SLOGANS & POSTERS

In the third sessions that were carried out with the age groups from 7 to 9 and from 10 to 12, slogan generating and banner making activities were made about the topics that were discussed in the previous sessions. Outcomes were used at the campaign part of the project.

SYRIAN CHILDREN, 11-15 AGE GROUP

  • Police shouldn't touch us.
  • Police should leave us in peace.
  • Police shouldn't send us to the camp.
  • Police shouldn't take away the tissues or water I'm selling.
  • Police shouldn't beat us.
  • All I want is for my parents to be nice to me.
  • The people of Turkey should help us.
  • The people of Turkey shouldn't look down on us.
  • The people of Turkey should see us as one of them.
  • When somebody gives us money, the police shouldn't take the money away and beat us.
  • The police shouldn't put us in prison; because you stay there for so long that you can’t find your parents when you get out.
  • I don't want to fight with children from Turkey, I want to be friends with them.

SYRIAN CHILDREN, 6-10 AGE GROUP

  • Police should leave us alone.
  • Police shouldn't beat us.
  • We don't want to see the police.
  • We want food.
  • My parents should be nice to me.
  • We want jobs.
  • We want to work in the fields.
  • It would be enough if those who hit us were nice to us.

7-9 AGE GROUP - GROUP 1

  • Parents should treat their children well.
  • Parents shouldn't swear.
  • Parents shouldn't fight in front of others.
  • Parents shouldn't beat their children.
  • Parents should keep their promises.
  • Teachers shouldn't beat children.
  • Teachers don't have the right to hit children.
  • Teachers should talk instead of punishing.
  • Teachers shouldn't swear.
  • Teachers should let us eat during the lunch break.
  • Other children shouldn't hit us.
  • Other children shouldn't pick on us.
  • Other children don't have the right to beat us.
  • We don't want drugs on our streets.
  • We want streets with grass and trees.
  • Children want parks.
  • Children want clean streets.

7-9 AGE GROUP - GROUP 2

  • No one should beat children.
  • No one should fight.
  • Teachers shouldn't shout at children.
  • Scary movies shouldn't be shown on television.
  • Park your cars in car parks, not on the streets.
  • Leave us places to play.
  • Don't leave children in dark places to scare them.
  • Don't swear at children.
  • Every child has the right to shelter.
  • Teachers shouldn't beat their students.
  • Adults should treat children well.
  • Children shouldn't fight for no reason.
  • Children shouldn't play tricks on each other.
  • People should share.
  • It is adults' responsibility to ensure children's safety.

7-9 AGE GROUP - GROUP 3

  • Parents shouldn't kick their children out of home.
  • Love your children.
  • Mum, dad: buy me toys.
  • Mum, dad: don't beat me.
  • Grandfather: kiss me.
  • Mum, dad: feed me.
  • Parents should cook good meals for their children.
  • Mum, dad: take us to the park.
  • Mum, dad: love me.
  • Teachers: don't hurt children.
  • Teachers don't have the right to beat us.
  • Teachers should respect our rights.
  • Teachers: love us.
  • Shopkeepers: don't rip us off.
  • Don't fall out with your friends.
  • Other children: don't beat us.
  • It’s nice when friends help each other.
  • Be fair to children.
  • Don't use my photo without my permission.
  • Don't write bad things under my photo.

10-12 AGE GROUP - GROUP 1

  • We want peace, not violence.
  • We want love from our parents, not violence.
  • Show children love, not violence.
  • There is no problem for which violence is the solution.
  • Say “peace” all the time; your problems will be solved easily.
  • Let’s correct mistakes through words, not violence.
  • Whether they are beautiful or ugly, you shouldn't commit violence against anyone.
  • Every child in the world wants love from their parents.
  • No one has right to hit anyone else.
  • You don't have right to commit violence to people younger than you.
  • Don't be violent towards students who don’t have good grades.
  • We want love from teachers, not violence.
  • Just because you are older than us, it doesn't mean you are better than us. Don't behave violently towards anyone.
  • Look after your children as if they were flowers.
  • Don't be violent towards children on the street.
  • Nobody should harm or be violent towards anybody.
  • To all the adults in the world: You don't have the right to beat children.
  • Adults don't have the right to raise their hands against children.
  • Don't use slang words on social media.

10-12 AGE GROUP - GROUP 2

  • Children have the right to protest.
  • Adults are unable to control themselves. Use punishments instead of violence, perhaps they will understand their mistake.
  • Adults shouldn't beat children.
  • No to violence, yes to peace.
  • Don't look at everything we do as wrong.
  • Don't hack other’s social media accounts.
  • We are children, not adults. We have rights too.
  • Do not discriminate between girls and boys.
  • People shouldn't harm their environment.
  • We shouldn't be looked down on just because we're children.
  • We don't want bad habits around us.
  • Children have rights.
  • We have the right to play in the park.
  • We are children; we should have a place to play.
  • We are children; we have the right to be outside.
  • Just because you are older than us does not mean you have the right to bully us.
  • We don't want politics in the news.
  • Despite everything, children should be free.
  • Children shouldn't be left at home alone.
  • Children shouldn't have to do work while the adults are out enjoying themselves.

10-12 AGE GROUP - GROUP 3

  • Children also have the right to express their ideas.
  • Ask my opinion when buying something for me.
  • Children have the right to play outside.
  • Children have the right to go to school and receive an education.
  • Don’t hit children, show them attention.
  • Don’t force children to work.
  • Take us on trips.
  • Don’t treat children harshly.
  • Teacher! Don’t hit me.
  • Teacher! Take us out for physical education classes.
  • Let us play games on 23 April, Children’s Day.
  • Teacher! Don’t send us to the disciplinary committee.
  • Give us presents when we get a high score in exams.
  • Don’t throw rubbish on the street.
  • Throw your rubbish in the bin.
  • Don’t spread gossip about your neighbours.
  • Shopkeepers should be nice to their customers.
  • We want fresh fruit.
  • Children need places to play.
